Primary goal: Design and coordinate fabrication of 2D and 3D objects for the new Africa Exhibit at the International Crane Foundation

The International Crane Foundation’s (ICF) headquarters in Wisconsin, provides a place of refuge for all 15 species of cranes, a place of research for international leaders in the conservation field, and a place of inspiration for the more than 25,000 people who visit the site annually.

The newest exhibit titled Spirit of Africa focuses on the species of cranes native to sub-Saharan Africa.  The Wisconsin Green Building Alliance awarded the exhibit an SE2 (Sustainability and Energy Efficiency) Leadership Award in 2009.

As part of the exhibit team at the 106 Group, I helped brainstorm, design, and coordinate fabrication of exhibit pieces including:

Grass-look frames for interpretive panels and exhibit cases designed by Blue Rhino Studios

• signs specific to each species with a custom header with cutout lettering,
• signs focusing on conservation leaders in the field with associated exhibit cases mounted on grass-look custom metal work created by Blue Rhino Studio,
• and wayfinding signs with a custom topper in the shape of a crane
