Description

smith1Four signs along Kellogg Avenue in Saint Paul, MN

When building the Smith Avenue Transit Center, the City of Saint Paul was charged with improving the pedestrian experience alongside the building as well as telling the historical and archaeological story of the site. The city chose to use outdoor backlit panels along the southern side of the new building to meet their goals.

I designed the two largest panels with most content viewable to walkers-by along with large images and headlines viewable to automobile drivers. I also helped coordinate four other signs from the Minnesota History Center, Xcel Energy Center, Science Museum of Minnesota, and Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, all of whom were chosen due to their institutional presence in the City of Saint Paul.
